Custom Pinata Artwork Requirements and File Guide

Send the clearest available artwork plus the missing information a flat image cannot communicate.

The best custom pinata artwork file is the clearest authorized source you have, but the file alone is never the complete brief. A flat image does not define depth, back view, size, hanging, filling or which details may be simplified.

Buyers sometimes delay an enquiry because they do not have a perfect vector file. Send the best available source first. A vector is useful for clean outlines and logos, while high-resolution images and multiple views can be more useful for a mascot or product shape.

What matters is whether the factory can identify the intended form and the missing decisions. A low-resolution reference, screenshot from another seller or collection of inconsistent images creates both production and artwork-rights problems.

The buyer should also confirm permission to use supplied logos, characters, package designs and illustrations. File quality does not prove authorization.

Use this artwork handoff checklist

Put the current files in one folder and label replaced versions as obsolete. The folder should be understandable without the chat history.

  • Authorized master artwork in the highest-quality available format.
  • Front, side, back and detail views where the design needs them.
  • Finished dimensions and the exact measurement method.
  • Color references and priority order.
  • Must-keep, may-simplify and optional details.
  • Use, mechanism, filling, hanging, display and packaging requirements.

Send source artwork plus a physical interpretation brief

For logos and flat marks, vector formats such as AI, EPS, SVG or editable PDF are helpful when available. Also include a viewing reference so the factory understands how the mark becomes a three-dimensional object or surface layer.

For mascots and products, provide front, side, back and three-quarter views when possible. If a view does not exist, mark what the factory may interpret instead of approving a front image and leaving the rest to guesswork.

Add target dimensions, colors, use, mechanism, filling and hanging requirements. Mark details as must keep, may simplify or may omit. These notes often prevent more revisions than a higher-resolution file alone.

Artwork can name an intended color, but it cannot show how fringe paper, lighting and adjacent shades will change the result. Before approval, use the practical color-matching guide to define references and acceptable handmade variation.

Example: five online references describe three different mascots

A buyer collects images from search results. The ear shape, colors and body proportions differ between the references, and one image may belong to another artist or seller.

The sample maker cannot know which inconsistency is intentional. The buyer replaces the collection with one authorized master image, adds a side sketch and marks the face and ear angle as must keep.

The factory then identifies the open points: back treatment, target depth, hanging position and whether the tail may be flattened for packing. These decisions are recorded before the sample begins.

During approval, the physical sample is compared with the marked brief and the agreed interpretation—not with every image that appeared in the original chat.

A practical note from our factory

We can start a feasibility conversation from a sketch, but we cannot manufacture from an unstated idea. Tell us what must be recognized and where we are allowed to interpret. That is more useful than sending many files without a priority.

Artwork problems are usually information problems

  • An enlarged low-resolution image creates uncertain edges and details.
  • Different reference images conflict and no master is named.
  • The buyer owns the file but has not confirmed reproduction rights.
  • Only the front is shown for a product viewed from several sides.
  • A new file replaces the original without a version or approval reset.

What to look at next

Send the best authorized source now rather than waiting for perfection. Include target size, use, quantity and the features that cannot change. We will identify missing views or production-ready formats after the design is reviewed.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a vector file for a custom pinata?

A vector is useful for logos and clean shapes, but it is not always required to begin review. Send the best authorized files and the factory can identify what is still needed.

Can you work from a photograph?

A clear photo can start feasibility review, especially with additional views and dimensions. The buyer must still confirm permission and define hidden sides and priorities.

What resolution is enough?

Use the highest-quality original available. More important than one number is whether edges, details and colors are clear at the intended size.

Why are dimensions needed when the artwork has proportions?

Artwork proportions do not define physical scale, depth, internal space, hanging or carton impact. Give finished measurements and how they should be taken.

Send the artwork—and tell us what it cannot show

Put the current files in one folder and label replaced versions as obsolete. The folder should be understandable without the chat history. Start with authorized master artwork in the highest-quality available format; front, side, back and detail views where the design needs them; finished dimensions and the exact measurement method.
